We continue working hard because we are getting closer to the last two races of the CEV in which we want to participate (Valencia, November 14 and Jerez, November 21) and there are still many things to do, so that everything works as planned.
On September 13 we returned to train in Valencia, sharing the track with several Moto2 GP teams (like Aspar and VDS Racing).
These are the “informal” times provided by the teams:
Julián Simón ESP Suter Mapfre Aspar Team 72 laps 1:36.8
Jules Cluzel Suter FRA 1:37.5 Forward Racing 75 laps
Hector Faubel Suter Marc ESP 1:38.1 VDS Racing 77 laps
MIR MIR Ramos Román ESP 1:38.3 Racing 25 laps
Ratthapark Wilairot Bimota THA Thai Honda PTT 1:38.4 42 laps
Ricard Cardus Bimota Maquinza SAG ESP 1:38.4 58 laps
Scott Redding Suter Marc GBR 1:38.5 VDS Racing 53 laps
Mike Suter Dimeglio FRA 1:38.5 Mapfre Aspar Team 57 laps
Dominique Aegerter Technomag-CIP Suter SUI 1:39.0 44 laps
Álex Martínez ESP 55 laps Bottpower 1.40.2
As you see we did 55 laps with a best time of 1:40,2.
These times should be judged carefully, first because they are not official times, and secondly we must also bear in mind that the WGP teams train with engines tuned to SuperSport level (they only can use the GP spec engines in the world championship races and qualifying, not in private practice), which have about 20 hp more than the standard engine we are using.
We are using a CEV spec engine, which is just a CBR standard engine (it is not allowed to tune it).
We had the feeling we could have gone a little faster, but to be realistic, the other bikes are World Cup teams and riders that come with a very high rate of development to the final races of the championship. We are starting and we still have much to improve, at all levels.
Changing the subject, as I commented in a previous post, in terms of design we are working on a number of improvements which will be incorporated in the BOTT M211.
One is a new piece to hold the fairing at the front, which also serves to hold the display.
The piece we designed is manufactured using rapid prototyping techniques. It has a removable lid, so that we can accommodate inside small electronic parts of the bike which were visible thus far.
This is the look of the piece on the computer screen:
And this is the part already built:
As always Ineo has done a great job .. 🙂
As far as further training, we have no concrete dates, but we want to train at least twice more before the first race. We’ll Keep you informed ..
