We had some time without updating the blog and I want to apologize for that.
Those of you that follow us in our Social Networks will be more or less aware of the current status of the project.
And for those ones who are not, here you have some photos and a video.
Our friends from Powerart came to visit us one more time, to keep covering the project development. They also visited Optimus 3D to show how they are printing the parts that we are mounting on the bike.
As we saw in the previous post, Optimus 3D has been printing parts for the bike. In general, each component (tank, airbox, airbox intakes, subframe) has been divided into several pieces that we later on glued together. Then, we sanded and painted the parts and this is how the bike looks right now.
The next step that we must take is to add some carbon fiber layers over the parts, in this way they will be valid from a structural point of view. Right now they are just plastic (polyamide) parts and they wouldn’t support the loads that they should withstand.
We explain everything in the video.
