Last weekend I was in Valencia track working with the Qatar Federation team in the last round of the CEV (Spanish Championship). We were in box 39 and I found that in the box next to us (box 38) we had a couple of interesting neighbors. Two Moto2 bikes with alternative front ends were sharing the box.
One was the French
Transfiormers, which has already raced several times in some races of World Championship, and also in the CEV. This bike is descendent from the Fior bikes of the eighties. I am a big fan of those bikes and
we already talked about them before.
The other one was
Lamoto2, a bike created from a collaborative project in Spanish magazine La Moto.
It was funny to see these two bikes sharing the box. I must recognize that I felt a little bit jealous because I also would like to race with an alternative front end Bottpower bike. 🙂
Some weeks ago I was in Qatar coinciding with the last round of the World Superbikes championship. I took advantage of my time there and took a look at every bike. The one that captured more my attention was the EBR (it is clear that I have a weakness for “different” bikes).
It surprised me positively, I was expecting to find a more or less prepared EBR 1190 but the truth is that the bike looked like a real Superbike prototype. It had Magneti Marelli electronics and it was obvious that there was a lot of work and several differences with respect to the bike that started the season. For example now they are using a new front caliper, different from the original one.
To see this bike in real made me dream about a Bottpower bike built around an EBR 1190 engine.. will we see it some day? 🙂

You should look at James Parkers design. It is really cool. He claims a big advantage in breaking because the front suspension works better than a traditional fork. It is a big cost savings if you consider comparing it to top of the line super bike Ohlins fork. Would love to hear how the 2 teams did.
I told you, that we should have a think about this engine…! A.
