Today we are showing you a BOTT XR1 built by Kamiel in Belgium.
Kamiel is a true mechanic. He worked for many years in the world championship and he has lots of experience. He is one of those persons that knows what he is doing when he is working on a motorbike.
Kamiel bought an XR1 kit and he asked us to deliver the frame unpainted (normally we always powder coat all our frames) and he painted it in this cool cherry red.
Another peculiarity of his order was to ask for a Motoscope Pro display instead of the Chronoclassic one that we mount normally. Our interface cable allows to connect the Motoscope Pro in an easy way to the Buell wiring loom, so we had no problem about it. In fact, we already had used the Motoscope Pro one time in the BOTT XR1R with titanium frame.
Kamiel decided to mount a TFX rear shock on his bike. This is the same brand we are working with in the Morlaco project.
Also, Kamiel decided that he wanted to use a carburetor instead of fuel injection. We also have some customers in the USA that built their bikes using a carburetor.
We are used to working with fuel injection and we like it, but things are never black or white. Carburetors also have their advantages: they don’t need a fuel pump (which might fail), they don’t need sensors (which might fail), they don’t need electric power and you can adjust the fueling in an easy way if you know how to do it. Nowadays many ECUS are “closed” and modifying them and making a new fuel map can be quite expensive.
Kamiel’s bike mounts also a GPR silencer, that is the same one that we used in the BOTT XR1R that I mentioned before.
As you can see in the video, the engine runs really smooth.
Congratulations Kamiel, you did a great job! 🙂
Really beautifull !!
Perfect bike
