Jerez, first race of 2011 CEV.

We arrived to Jerez with very few kilometers of pre-season (just one test), but also with a strong desire to achieve a good resoult. The bike had a new bodywork painting that make it look more agressive.

In Friday F1 and F2 trainings we already saw that we were quite far from the head laptimes, although Antonio Gallardo was improving his lap times everytime he was on the tarmac. On friday our best time was 1:48,9.
Saturday morning, in Q1 we made mid 48’s, but we had a problem with the fueltank and we lost a lot of time in the box.
In Q2 the problem was fixed, but the weather was warmer, most of the riders lapped slower although Gallardo kept lapping in the same times of Q1. We got a 24th position in the grid, formed by 36 riders, with several ones used to ride in the World Championship.

On Sunday during the race Gallardo kept adapting to the bike, once again he improved his lap times (his best lap was 1:48:00), and during the race he was overlaping other riders. When he arrived to 18th we thought that maybe it would be possible to arrive to the points zone (which was not so bad for our first race of the season), but unfortunately there was a crash with another rider and both went to the ground. Fortunately both riders were ok.

This is our third race and by the moment we have not been able to achieve the resoults we want. Now we must keep working hard and preparing our next race as good as possible.

As always you will find higher resolution photos in our Flickr gallery.
